Finally, to achieve fast firing times of time-critical transitions, the SDL system must not get overloaded during execution. This requires the choice of a suitable hardware platform and the analysis of the overall system behavior, based on an offline performance analysis. In [10], Bræk et al. 3 to allow statistical variation. Yet, these measures cannot guarantee that all real-time requirements can be met. To further improve execution time and accuracy, additional measures can be applied by introducing optimizations at the implementation level.
